End-of-Year Celebrations – Graduations & Summer Fun
Dear [School Name] Families, Students, and Staff,
Can you believe we’re already thinking about June? With the first half of 2026 flying by, it’s the perfect time to start planning for the exciting close of our school year and the beginning of summer break. June is always a joyful (and bittersweet!) month filled with reflection, achievement, and celebration as we wrap up the 2025-2026 year.
Here are some key upcoming dates and events to mark on your calendars:
- End-of-Year Assemblies & Awards — The week of June 8–12 will feature grade-level assemblies to recognize academic excellence, citizenship, perfect attendance, and special contributions. We’ll celebrate student growth and share highlights from the year—families are invited!
- Graduation Ceremonies:
- Kindergarten Promotion — Thursday, June 11 at 9:00 AM in the auditorium (caps and gowns provided—photo opps galore!)
- 8th Grade Promotion — Friday, June 12 at 6:00 PM on the front lawn (weather permitting; formal event with speeches and certificates)
- Last Day of School — Wednesday, June 17, 2026 — Half-day dismissal at noon. We’ll end with fun activities like a school-wide picnic lunch, yearbook signing, and a “Summer Kickoff” parade. No buses on the last day—please arrange pick-up accordingly.
- June Themes & Observances — Throughout the month, we’ll incorporate:
- Pride Month — Classroom discussions, inclusive read-alouds, and a rainbow-themed kindness project.
- National Safety Month — Bike/pedestrian safety workshops and a school-wide safety poster contest.
- Juneteenth (June 19) — Special lessons on freedom, history, and community (no school if it falls on a weekday—check the district calendar).
- Father’s Day (June 21) — Student-made cards and a “Dad & Me” breakfast invite for dads/guardians.
- Summer Reading & Programs — Don’t miss our summer reading challenge kickoff! Packets go home in May, with prizes for returning in the fall. We’ll also share info on local summer camps, library programs, and our own summer bridge activities for rising grades.
As we head toward the final stretch, thank you for your continued support—whether it’s helping with field trips, volunteering, or simply cheering on your child’s progress. The energy and growth we’ve seen this year have been incredible, and we’re so proud of every member of the [School Name] family.
More detailed schedules, volunteer sign-ups, and ticket info (for ceremonies) will be posted on the parent portal in April and May. In the meantime, enjoy these winter months, and let’s keep the momentum going!
Here’s to a fantastic finish and a well-deserved summer!
Warm regards, [Your Name] Principal / Headteacher [School Name] February 11, 2026
