Celebrating History & Community at [School Name]!

Dear [School Name] Families, Students, and Staff,

Happy February! As we settle into the second month of 2026, our school community is buzzing with energy, learning, and meaningful celebrations. February is a special time to honor Black History Month, spread kindness for Valentine’s Day, and prepare for the exciting events ahead.

Here are some key highlights and reminders for the month:

  • Black History Month Activities — Throughout February, classrooms are exploring the contributions of Black leaders, artists, inventors, and changemakers. Look for student displays in the hallways, special guest speakers (including a musical performance inspired by Black history on February 18 in the auditorium), and our school-wide “Stories of Strength” essay and art contest. Entries are due February 25—details and entry forms are in the student portals or available from homeroom teachers.
  • Valentine’s Day Spirit Week — February 9–13 brought fun dress-up days (Mismatched Monday, Twin Tuesday, etc.), and we’re wrapping up with a Valentine’s Kindness Gram delivery on February 13. Students exchanged anonymous positive notes of appreciation—thank you for helping foster such a caring environment!
  • Presidents’ Day Holiday — No school on Monday, February 16, 2026. Enjoy the long weekend, and remember buses resume normal routes on Tuesday, February 17.
  • Upcoming Dates to Note:
    • February 18 — Black History Month Assembly & Performance (all grades, 9:00 AM in the auditorium—families welcome!)
    • February 20 — Green Campus Challenge progress check & mini-assembly
    • February 24–26 — Parent-Teacher Conferences (evening slots available—book now via the parent portal)
    • March 5 — World Book Day dress-up and book swap (start thinking about your favorite character!)

We’re also continuing our Green Campus Challenge from last term—classes are competing to reduce waste, save energy, and plant seeds in our new school garden. Thank you to all the families who’ve sent in recycled materials and signed up for the family eco-pledge!

A special thank-you to our counselors, teachers, and parent volunteers who’ve made Black History Month so enriching, and to everyone who participated in our winter coat drive earlier this year—your support continues to make a real difference.

As always, please reach out with any questions about events, schedules, or how to get involved. We love partnering with you to make [School Name] a place where every student thrives.

Here’s to a month full of learning, kindness, and pride in our shared history!

Warmest regards, [Your Name] Principal / Headteacher [School Name] February 11, 2026
